Friends laughing together in the evening light

About

Spending time together matters.

That is the entire thesis. Everything else on this site is implementation detail.

The observation

Almost nobody stops playing football because they stopped enjoying football. The games night does not end because the games got worse. What actually happens is that the coordination cost creeps up, one person absorbs it, and eventually they get tired — and the thing quietly stops without anyone deciding to stop it.

The activity was never the hard part. The arranging was. And it is a strange thing to lose something you all like because of admin.

The position

ToGethered is for recurring informal gatherings: pickup sports, outdoor sessions, hobby communities, casual social gatherings. Things that happen again and again, with roughly the same people, where nobody is really in charge.

It is not a generic event planner, and we will keep saying so. Event planners assume a host, a guest list and a date that matters. Add those to a Tuesday kickabout and you have not helped — you have added the exact overhead that kills it. When a gathering genuinely does need that structure, it should graduate to a tool built for it, and it can. Most never will.

The bet

The interesting thing about a beach regular versus a birthday party is frequency. A birthday happens once a year. Someone who swims every Saturday shows up fifty times — with the same handful of people, over and over. That repetition is what turns "people who were at the same place" into something closer to a community, and it is why we think the humble end of the social calendar is the part worth building for.

Who makes it

ToGethered is built by Sneat Co. and is part of the Sneat ecosystem — a family of products that share one account and one relationship graph, so the people you already know do not have to be re-entered in every app. Its siblings handle what happens when a gathering grows: GameBoard.live for running the game, RSVP.express for firm attendance, and Eventius for full events.

Where it is

Honestly: early. The Telegram bot works today. The web app andMoments are being built. This site describes where ToGethered is going as much as where it is, and we have tried to be clear throughout about which is which — including labelling the illustrations on this site as illustrations rather than passing them off as a product that does not exist yet.

Spending time together matters.

Everything else here is just plumbing. Pick a spot, say when you are going, and let the people who would have come anyway find you.
