Friends meeting up together before heading off

Terms

We help you find each other. The gathering itself is yours.

Not a wall of clauses. Here is the deal in plain English — what ToGethered does, what it deliberately does not, and what we each owe the other.

The short version

Four things, in plain English.

You show up at your own risk

ToGethered helps you find and coordinate a gathering. It does not organise, vet, supervise, insure, or take responsibility for what happens at one. Use your own judgement about the people, the place and the activity — the same as you would if a friend had texted you the plan.

You own what you post and how you act

You are responsible for the intents you post and the way you treat the people you meet. Be honest about your plans, and be decent to everyone else — online here and in person there.

Don't use it to harm

No illegal activity, and nothing that harasses, threatens or endangers other people. A gathering is other real humans turning up somewhere — treat that with the weight it deserves.

It's early, and it's as-is

ToGethered is provided as-is, with no warranty. We will keep changing the service and these terms as it grows, and we will flag anything material rather than slip it past you.

ToGethered gets you to the meeting point. What happens there is between the people who turn up.

Which is why the judgement stays yours.

What ToGethered does — and what it doesn't

ToGethered exists to answer one question — who else is going to be here? — and to make the humble admin of a recurring gathering disappear. It helps you find spots, say where you intend to be, and see who else is in. That is the whole job.

It does not organise, vet, supervise, insure, or take responsibility for the gatherings themselves. The people you meet through ToGethered are not checked or approved by us. A spot is a place in the real world, not a venue we run. Whether to go, who to trust, and what is safe to do when you get there are your calls to make — with the same care and judgement you would use for any plan a friend sent you.

You show up at your own risk

Kitesurfing, ice hockey, a ridge walk, a Tuesday kickabout — these are physical, real-world activities with real-world risks, and they happen away from ToGethered, between the people who turn up. You take part at your own risk. Look after yourself and the people around you, don't rig or swim or climb alone when that matters, and stop when something feels wrong. We are not there, and we cannot be responsible for what happens when you are.

What you're responsible for

You are responsible for what you post — that your intents are honest, that a spot you create is real, and that anything you write is yours to share. And you are responsible for how you treat other people, both in the app and at the gathering. Treat them the way you would want the regulars at your own spot to treat you.

What you can't use it for

Don't use ToGethered for anything illegal, and don't use it to harass, threaten, deceive, or endanger anyone. Don't impersonate other people, and don't post spots or intents designed to lure people somewhere for harm. This is a short list on purpose — it all comes back to the same thing: real people are going to act on what you post here.

Your account

Your account comes from Sneat Co., the same identity used across the ecosystem, so there is no separate ToGethered password to lose. Keep your access to yourself; what happens under your account is treated as your doing.

It's provided as-is

ToGethered is in active development, and it is offered as-is, without warranties of any kind. We work hard to make it useful and to keep it running, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or right about who will be where. A headcount is a best guess made of other people's plans, not a guarantee — treat it that way.

Changes

We will keep changing the service as it grows — features arrive, some change shape, a few will go away. We may also update these terms. When a change is material, we will flag it rather than bury it, because a terms page nobody was told changed is not honest. Carrying on using ToGethered after a change means you're okay with the updated terms.

Asking us things

ToGethered is operated by Sneat Co. If any of this is unclear, or you want to raise something, see sneat.co.

ToGethered is in active development. This page sets out the deal in plain English; it will be joined by a fuller legal notice before general availability. We would rather tell you the shape of it now than hand you a document nobody reads.
